Start with pricing first and the reason is that pricing is the one thing that you can change in your sales and targets that can have the biggest and best impact. It doesn’t cost anything to change your prices and it has an immediate impact on your bottom line profits. 

 

2. Ask for referrals 

 

It’s easier to win business when you are warmly introduced, rather than having to win a cold lead. With that in mind most businesses have loyal customers that they can ask for help with marketing i.e. a referral to someone they know who is looking to buy your product or service. 

 

Asking for referrals is a free and easy way to generate new business and doesn’t cos you anything. You do need to have a system in place to ask for the referral though to ensure it generates a steady stream of introductions, rather than on an ad hoc basis. 

 

3. Differentiate your marketing efforts 

 

If all your competitors do is post on social media try direct mail. People are more likely to open a letter you post rather than an email since they receive so many spam emails now. Differentiate your approach to finding new customers and reflect on the fact that different generations buy in different ways. 

 

In summary, it doesnt have to be complicated or expensive to grow your business and often the most simple ideas are overlooked. The simple stuff works and just requires a bit of attention and commitment to get it working for you to see results.
